I have made this for family and friends and everyone has loved this recipe. It's so easy to make you'll do it over and over. I've also found you can add or substitute other fruit as well. Try this out, it's great. Thanks Paula!

My mother has always made peach cobbler, but I always noticed she did not use a pie crust or dumplings. Her crust was more like a bread pudding. Needless to say she's also never parted with her recipe. While watching Paula, I realized her recipe looked just like what I've eaten for years. With the exception of a little nutmeg, vanilla, and canned peaches, Paula's recipe is just like my mother's. Thank you! Now I don't have to beg my mom anymore when I have a taste for it. I can make my own.

Just made it and loved it! Changed it a little: 6 peaches; 1 1/4 cups sugar (3/4 c w/peaches & 1/2 c with flour 1/4 cup butter; 1 cup milk; 1/2 tsp cinnamon; 1/4 cup water and 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour. Served with ice cream, yum!! Thinking about making up the peach mixture and freezing it for a quick dessert for company.

Can't beat this when peaches are in season. So easy and so good, especially with vanilla ice cream.

This is the BEST cobbler recipe I have tried yet! And it couldn't be any easier. I can't wait to try it with other fruit. I added a touch of cinnemon and nutmeg to my peaches.

I used nectarines instead of peaches and it came out just as tasty. I am not sure I enjoy the texture of a "cobbler" as much as I like a "buckle". I guess I'll have to try it again to decide.
