This recipe is the best I have tried yet for cobbler. The trick of letting the butter melt in the casserole dish before adding everything is ingenious!! This is the only recipe I've tried that turns out good and cooks through all the way as a thick cobbler. I made this with cherries and it was just as delicious.

Made this yesterday for first time. It was fabulous! I made it in a 11x7 pan as i didnt have a 3 qt baking dish and it was fine. I did add 1tsp of baking powder as I read the other review about the self rising flour which I did not have and it worked out fine. I did not use all the peach juice liquid but I should have. i got a lil scared that it would be soggy but the crust soaks it all up so go for it! I'm going to try adding blueberries w this next time.

Always awesome! I make this every year when peaches are in season and it always gets big raves!! Take care in choosing the vessel you cook it in- I once chose a glass dish that fit everything perfectly but it needed to cook a bit longer than 45 because the center wasn't quite done.
I also cook the peaches with a vanilla bean which gilds the lily.
To those who complain about this and all other recipes: READ YOUR DIRECTIONS!! Don't bemoan Paula, AB, Ina, Bobby, Tyler, Rachel et al. because of your oversight. It cracks me up to read a bad review that contains "I used baking soda since I didn't have baking powder" or "I used AP Flour since I did not have self-rising" There is a reason that these items exist thus not interchangeable (Although you can make baking powder and Self-Rising Flour but that's another post..

Born southern with much experience with peaches and cobblers, I found this recipe to be exceptional ...I am now a Yankee and still have the love for peaches...I divided the recipe into 2 baking dishes and my neighbor was happy with the best cobbler I have ever made...Great and easy...don't hesitate to make it...Oh, by the way, it is addictive...so yummy...

I just made this with the homemade whipped cream. WOW! very good cobbler. My husband loves it. He had a big bowl of it. Mine was in the oven for about 50 mmin, came out perfect. Oh, I didn't put all of the liquid in either. Left out about 3/4 cup.

I'm 24 and could never really cook, but a few months ago I gave myself another shot in the kitched, and I've been impressed with myself so far! Except for baking.. everything I bake sucks.... that is, until tonight. This is the first time I've attempted peach cobbler and i NAILED IT w/this recipe. Everyone was hesitant to try something I baked until my mother, my worst critic beside myself, tried it and said it was some of the best peach cobbler she's ever had, everyone followed and dug in.. and no one had a bad word! I've even been told, not asked, that I must bring this dish to every family function from now on forward. (uh oh, what have i done? I do want to note for anyone that might be about to try this.. I found the video just as useful, if not more, as the recipe. I probably followed more closely to her lead in the video than i did the recipe. However her suggestion for about how much water to add was high, follow the recipe on 1/2 cup, not the video.
