this recipe was good, not great. the custard base was good but it just didn't taste like ice cream. I think it just wasn't sweet enough. For me next time I would use regular sugar and even a bit more. I also pureed my peaches and addded at the end to make a smooth vs. chunky ice cream

This was a great recipe. I used less cream and mixed with 2% milk, and it turned out scrumptious! I think the brown sugar makes this a unique recipe. Good job, Paula!

My husband and I loved this recipe! The base was delicious, and as long as you cut the peaches really small, you're good to go. One thing to note: it doesn't take nearly 4 hours if you have the small Cuisinart ice cream maker. Maybe 15-20 on the front end, then 30-40 in the machine. I would definitely recommend this!

Likes: when making this recipe, the flavor and depth the brown sugar added was outstanding. the custard came together easily. I couldn't wait to try. I did add 2 tbsp. vanilla vodka, as this helps prevent iciness in homemade ice creams.
Dislikes: Despite last addition, this ice cream came out SO icy and hard. I chopped up the peaches into 1/4" pieces, and they all landed to the bottom by the time this hardened. Guess it needed a stir mid-freeze. A weight or volume ofamount for the fruit would be better, my peaches were small, 2", so I increased the amount.
Overall: I probably won't use this recipe for peaches again, as I wasn't overwhelmed. But thanks Paula for the brown sugar ice cream base! I will try it in other flavors, maybe with crushed cookies next time.

I tried this over the 4th of July weekend on family and company. Everyone loved it. I've made ice cream several times and really enjoyed the rich flavor that the brown sugar adds without making the ice cream too sweet. The peaches added a touch of tang to compliment the sweet and rich. Everyone wants this on the do-again list.

While the ice cream in this recipe was good, we ended up picking out the pieces of peach. They were frozen and unpleasant. I would suggest crushing the peaches.

This was my first attempt at making Homemade Ice Cream and I followed the recipe, but It was'nt sweet enough for me, and even though I chopped the peaches into small peices, they were TOO HARD! ! I usually like Paula's recipes that I try, this one just didn't do it for me.

This is the best recipe for homemade peach ice cream i have ever tried. I made it for a family reunion, and was in the kitchen constantly making more batches. I decided to try the Neely's topping for their peach ice cream on Paula's and it tasted delicious. Thank you Paula for this fabulous, summer dessert.
