Yield:
36 squares
Level:
Easy

Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound sliced easy-melt cheese (recommended: Velveeta)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 (16-ounce) boxes confectioners' sugar
Directions

Lightly spray the bottom of a 9 by 2-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt cheese and butter together, then add peanut butter and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts.

Empty confectioners' sugar into a large bowl and pour cheese mixture over sugar. Stir until completely mixed. Candy will be very stiff.

Using your hands, remove candy from the bowl and press evenly and firmly into the pan. Because of the amount of butter in this recipe, pat top of candy with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Place the pan in refrigerator until candy is firm.

To serve, cut into squares.

I made this last year for a bake sale we had at work & it was a huge hit! I intend to make it again this year and will make lots more. I will also try the chocolate cheese fudge.
Amazing. I didn't think the Velveeta cheese sounded too appealing - I decided to give it a go anway because I'm a huge peanut butter lover....am I glad I did! This is probably the smoothest fudge i've ever had....it's silky peanut buttery taste will get you hooked and craving more!
Best peanut butter fudge ever!!! A keeper for sure.
LOVE IT!!!!! I don't think I added enought powdered sugar it didn't stiffen, but I added a little more and it finally did... it is in the fridge now... waiting to see how it sets by tomorrow... but I licked my fingers and it was super yummy! I think that the other reviews are crazy if they didn't rate this high... I think that maybe they didn't use the right chees or something... only valveeta will work.... Thanks Paula I love you!! :
To be honest I have not made this yet.. but after reading many of the reviews, and since it's Paula Deen who made it, I'll try it. I

just have to ask though.... what happened to all the salt in the Velveeta if this is a sweet fudge???? :
YUMMY!! When I was little, I use to put a slice of cheese on my peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I LOVE CHEESE!! So when I saw this, I was not at all inhibited on trying it. My 12yo daughter made this for me and OMG, it is da bomb!! The only reason why I didn't give 4 stars is because it didn't set. If I keep it in the fridge, it hardens well. But after being out on a platter for half an hour, it begins to soften way too much. Other than that, this recipe is a hit...as usual!! Thanks again, Paula
Tastes so good! Sweet and smooth....like fudge should be.... not "sugar grainy"...like fudge should be.

So quick and simple to make...a perfect holiday treat to make when things are hectic. I'm tossing all my other peanut butter fudge recipes! Yum yum!
I made this and brought it to a Christmas party. One of the guests wanted to know who made the fudge. Her husband is a chef and she said that she never tasted anything like it. When I told her the recipe she just couldn't stop laughing. Velveeta!! No way! Anyway it was a big hit. Everyone loved it. Thanks.
This was the worst thing I have made in a long time. It is SOOOO Sweet that you can't even eat it. I made it to give for Christmas but it is going in the garbage. I can't give my frineds and family that fudge its AWFUL... Sorry Paula
Its fudge and it is supposed to be sweet !
YUCK. I love Paula's recipes, but this one not so much! Cheesy fudge is just too weird for my tastes.
I must say this was great and everyone loved it BIG THANK YOU
Easy to make and a huge success when served!
I have made this fudge and it is EXCELLENT! There is a crazy secret ingredient (Velveeta Cheese that at first thought makes you cringe, but REALLY, it is the best!! You gotta try it! And it's easy to make!
I just made this and it did not set up. It tastes really good though. Will try again soon and see if I made some mistake. It says to chill in fridge till firm, just wondering how long this should take. It's been in there about 2 hours now.
snuck a taste from a batch we just made, haven't even let it set up right yet, and YUMMMM!!!!!! Can't wait to try the finished product! :P Oh, and to the clumsy hairy fudge eater- GROSS!!!!!!
I made this yesterday and just plated it up. I didn't find that it had a velveeta taste at all. It was rather good, just wish it had more peanut butter flavor to it. I saw a review that someone dad did it as chocolate fudge. So I googled it.. instead of peanut butter it called for powdered coco. Now I am going to try the peanut butter fudge that leads on the trailer to the peanut butter cheese fudge.
This was the nastiest recipe I have ever tried. I actually put less velveeta than what the recipe called for and (of course it didn't set up right, but the worst part: it still tasted like Velveeta with melted peanut butter. I can't imagine how awful it would have been if I had put the full amount in. I have no idea what the 129 people that gave this recipe 5 stars are smoking, but I want some. It must be some good stuff.
Excellent as always! To the naysayers...try it! For those giving bad reviews before trying shame on you. And to butterfan69: Umm it's Paula's fault that you are a klutz in the kitchen? Kinda gross that you would eat hairy fudge and then give your review based on that
    very good
If this is half as delicious as Miss Paulas Chocolate version.....YUMMO! FYI:After I cut it up, I freeze the fudge pieces in a double zip lock, and O-M-G, my kids go nuts. Better than ice cream bites!
I noticed that the person who reviewed just before me gave this recipe 1 star without even trying it. Just like most of the other reviewers, I was VERY skeptical & grossed out @ the thought of using Velveeta in this, but I did & it's SO delicious! It's got the perfect peanut butter flavor, and no cheese flavor. It's smooth & creamy! I'm a forever fan of Paula Deen!
I just don't know if I can use Velveeta in this!! Could I possibly use cream cheese and get the same results? cooks2
I attempted to make this last night. When I was working the candy into the pan I slipped on some overspray, and I landed on my back with the fudge on my chest. Rather than attempt to get up I just dug right in. It was OK, a little to sweaty tasting and there were some hairs in it. Would not make again.
    i loved the fudge 10stars
I followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out perfectly. I used my mixer's metal bowl to melt the cheese, butter, and peanut butter over simmering water. I took the melted stuff over to the mixer with the dough hook attached. I then added the powdered sugar to it, and it mixed up easily. I transferred it to a 8 x 8 pan lined with buttered aluminum foil. I put it in the fridge for about 4 hours, and it came out perfect. My only issue is that it didn't taste very peanut butter. I was very creamy, and would be good if it were chocolate fudge.
If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would. This has to be the easiest and best Peanut Butter Fudge ! I used my double boiler to melt the butter,Velveeta Cheese, and Peanut Butter. I placed the Powdered Sugar in my mixing bowl, and used my Kitchen Aid Mixer with the paddle attachment. The dough is really stiff, and the mixer worked very well, and mixed everything without a problem. I made one batch of peanut butter fudge, and one batch of Nutella Hazelnut fudge. This recipe is very easy and no fail. The fudge set up without a problem. This is my go to fudge recipe.
The best fudge I've ever had! And so easy, or just about easy, it takes some muscle to stir it all together, but it was so worth it!
