These were great! I still like the recipe I have that calls for shortening and flour and bla bla bla, but when I have a craving for peanut butter cookies and either dont have all the ingredients I need or just don't feel like taking all the time, I just use this recipe and i love it! I don't even need to look at the recipe! Hello, just 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of peanut butter and 1 egg! I do add a splash of vanilla extract which i think makes it taste yummier but I love these! Totally showed me that you don't need flour in a recipe to make it great!

These cookies are awesome! I made them a little bigger than the recipe calls for since I didn't read how many it yields until they were in the oven, oops : I did add in the tablespoon of flour and a bit of vanilla due to other reviews. They baked for about 17 minutes. I also made them like a thumbprint cookie and baked them with strawberry jam on top. They came out amazing!

I created a user account just to rate and review these cookies. They're fabulous. These are the easiest and best cookies I've ever made from scratch. They came out flaky and crunch around the edges, and chewy in the center. I followed suggestions made in other posts and added the vanilla, tablespoon of flour and scaled down the sugar using half a cup of brown sugar and a quarter cup of granulated. I'm going to smother then in tempered chocolate, adding more than enough sugary-ness, as holiday gifts. For fun, I'm adding ground cayenne to the chocolate.
I'm as big a snob as the next foodie, but making your own peanut butter to say it's made from scratch is a whole new level of snobbyness.

AWESOME!!!! They are super easy and my husband and kids really enjoy them. I have made them for Thanksgiving and now for Christmas, I will be making them year round. I add chocolate chip to them for some variety. I agree the key is definitely not to over bake them which is very easy to do. Also parchment paper is a must.

I find it interesting how many people on here are giving this a low rating because it doesn't have flour. The cookies are great though maybe a little on the sweet side. The key is definitely to not over bake them.

Delicious! But I made a few changes of my own. My family was craving cookies and I didn't have all the required ingredients most cookies require. This one was simple. I used 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter and 1/2 cup Nutella in place of the other half cup of peanut butter (I had it on hand, handful of chocolate chips, and tbls vanilla extract (not in recipe. Mixed it together with the other ingredients required in this recipe and it came out perfect. Kids loved it, husband loved it, neighbors loved it. I LOVED IT! DELICIOUS!

These cookies are EXTREMELY oily/greasy, and I will not make them again. I regret trying this new recipe and should have just stuck to my original PB cookie recipe with flour, baking soda, etc.
