My granddaughters and sister saw Paula make this and we decided to do it. We had apples instead of pears. It came out great! The girls loved it. It was easy and very tasty.

I made these with apples instead of pears and they were delicious. I sprinkled them with powder sugar, slathered em with butter and drizzled apple cider syrup on top and ate them for breakfast. FANTASTIC!! The batter had plenty of flavor as is, no need to change anything to the recipe. Very easy to make, follow the recipe exactly and you can't go wrong.

This was delish! I added two Tbsp of brown sugar to the batter. I also garnished it with two scoops of Cream Brulee Ice Cream and powdered sugar and brown sugar mixed together! We loved it!

This came out a total mess for me! When I was frying them in the pan, the batter seperated from the pears. I had to scrape up the batter and put it on top of the pears and it just came out looking very unappealing. Also, the pears I used were very, very crispy. I didn't like that crispy pear with batter taste. This was NOT A KEEPER for me.

I usually love most everything Paula does. As soon as I saw the show I wanted to make these because they looked delicious, but the batter was a little bland. Not my favorite recipe, but I would try it again and make a few tweaks.

This is a great and yummy way to serve pears that weren't sweet enough to enjoy raw. Even my 9-year old daughter, who rarely eats fruit, enjoyed making them with me and eating them with ice cream. I am going to make some to share with the soldiers in my unit. Thanks Paula!!

I made these as a substitute for applesauce with a pork roast. they were terrific. I used low cal sour cream and splenda. they were really good.

This recipe is a great example that simplicity makes perfect. The pears get perfectly cooked and the batter came out light. Did not need to add any ice cream. Just along was a great comfort food. THANKS PAULA!

The batter tasted very plain. You definitely wouldn't enjoy the fritter alone, without any of the optional ingredients. Even so, I still wasn't all that impressed.
