Delicious! If you are a pecan pie lover you will want to eat these! They fry up so nicely. Very easy to make!

Absolutely a hit!!! This recipe is a favorite with family and friends, some crowd control required at dessert time: First time I followed the recipe accordingly, second time made a "Lighter Version." Made filling the same, folded each pastry in half (Will make two boxes of pie crust, brushed them with an egg wash, then baked at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.

IT WAS EXCELLENT! I GIVE THIS RECIPE A 5 STAR! THE CRUST WAS SO FLUFFY AND DELICIOUS. IT REMINDS ME OF A FUNNEL CAKE BUT INSTEAD WITH PECAN FILLING. MMM MMM GOOD! :

VERY good. My pockets were about 5" inches across & I easily could have made 12-15 of them. So you would need 2 boxes (4 pie crust of crust. Also the filling will thicken as it cools, then you can easily scoop it into the pie crust. Yes, this is relatively easy to make, but more time consuming than it suggests.

This is a very good recipe, tasted great. Made them up for dessert. Very important to let the filling cool before you try to put it on the pie crust, it will not set on the dough if hot it will just go through it.

The recipe says it makes 5 pockets, for all that mixture. You fold the circle and need 1/4 inch to crimp edge so pretty much you can only put 1 tablespoon of mixture. Anyway I put it in there and before I could even crimp the edges the filling was melting the dough so I could barely pick it up and it was all holey. I tried another one, it was very thin from the mixture melting the dough and managed to get one in the oil and it fell apart in the oil. I decided to let the mixture cool, put the dough circles in the fridge, but big mistake because obviously in just 10 minutes mixture hardened like a rock. So there is a serious mistake with this recipe. The pieces I retrieved from the oil tasted good but there is a flaw in the directions of this recipe.

My husband saw this episode of Paula's pecan pie pockets; he was hinting that I make them; I did and they turned out Awesome...I had leftover filling that we put on top of a scoop of Maple Nut ice cream and it was even more Awesome. They are like personalized pecan pies; they are quick and easy to make. I made my own crust so I got twice as many out of the recipe.
