These were ok. I won't make them again. They were chewy similar to a brownie, but I was expecting something more. Even though they call for a whole box of brown sugar, they aren't all that sweet tasting.

The soft-ball stage was not reached, even after 30 minutes. Looked nothing like Paula's. someone off-stage must have cooked and switched!! Won't make again.

I made them - it was fairly easy although the hard ball candy stage was something I wasn't too sure about. The squares were gooey in the center and not tall like the ones on the program but more like flat brownies. I don't if there was a flattening during the cooking process but the baking powder was fresh? The taste was missing something....you could taste the flour. Wouldn't make them again.

I found them to be very dry, crusty on top. Preparation of cooking in double broiler was much longer than it should have been to reach a softball stage. Presentation was ugly. Overall I would not recommend this recipe to anyone nor will I ever make it again.

Well it was easy to make but for some reason it wouldn't cook thouroghly! It was cooked on the outside and then started to get burned. I don't know but I have never had any problems with any of the recipes! Also I didn't like the taste! Good luck everyone!

I made this recipe and it was very easy but it was not as full of flavor as I expected. My husband liked it though.
