So delicious! I spread it as thin as it can go. The peppermint flavorings are not needed. You can make this one batch after batch!

Foolproof, unless you over-heat the chocolate. I use Ghiardelli (it's worth it!, leave out the peppermint oil, and spread it as thin as it will go. I sometimes make a thin bottom layer of milk chocolate, and it's just like the squares, only SO much better. Yesterday, while perusing the after-Christmas candy aisle, I found some Life Savers fruit-flavored candy canes. I made a half-batch with orange and one with pineapple--yum!

So easy! I got Tollhouse white chocolate morsels on sale so it was very affordable. My store didn't carry peppermint oil so I went without it. I poured it onto a silpat to make clean up super easy. I liked the candy canes more finely broken up than the recipe called for. I'll make this again for sure.

Super easy and delicious. I used Ghirdelli white chocolate chips and it came out fine. After 4 batches I found the following tips help. (1 Very low heat to melt chocolate and stir constantly. (2 Add peppermint flavoring at the very end of melting process and stir in vigorously with candy canes. The peppermint flavoring is a MUST in my opinion. (3 When you crush the candy canes in a plastic bag there will be some candy cane "dust" in the bottom of the bag. Do not mix that into the chocolate with the candy cane pieces. Instead, save that to sprinkle on after you spread it on the cookie sheet. WOW, it gives it a great look and adds to the candy cane/peppermint taste.

Next time I am going to try a double layer with darker chocolate on the bottom.

    Happy baking.....

Yummy! perfect for Christmas gift-giving! add 15 drops of peppermint oil per lb of white chocolate - really helps with the melting process
