I made this for dinner last night and we loved it. I could hardly wait for one to cool before tasting, they smelled so good coming out of the oven. There were no leftovers either! We like asparagus and have been eating it the same way for ages-- steamed then drizzled with Italian dressing so it was exciting to try a new way to serve it...I don't think I could ever tire of eating it like this! Thanks Paula!

This recipe is so easy to make and looks and tastes fabulous. I have made this recipe twice and have gotten rave reviews both times. It looks so elegant when you serve it and is easy to make ahead of time and then just pop in the oven right before serving. Even the non-vegetable lovers in our family like this recipe.

These were absolutely AMAZING and delicious.

    3 things however:
1 DO NOT serve these as an appetizer at an event where they have to walk around and eat these- they're VERY flaky and fall apart so they would need a plate.

2 I spread the butter first, some parmesano-romano cheese then garlic powder, salt+pepper! Very necessary.

3 These are time consuming but worth it! Just take that into consideration- it was not a 1,2,3 appetizer.

Everyone LOVED these including me- I was annoyed that I had to save the rest for my guests- next time I'm making 2 batches of asparagus with this.

I cook & bake all the time---usually with awesome results. I baked these in the morning & brought them to a party as an appetizer (to be eaten without fork/knife and candidly I thought it tasted great but was a little greasy. I would have preferred fork/knife....

So just wanted to share, that when you try the recipe---go easy on the butter---some others did mention this in the comments, but I hadn't read that ahead of time. I think using less butter would produce a better end product. I'll definitely try these again Sunday---

    In summary:
    1 Delicious
    2 EASY to prepare
3 Be cautious of how much butter you use if you plan to serve it as a passed hors d'oeuvre without fork/knife

This is such a great side/appetizer. Tastes great and looks even better! Reading the reviews ahead of time it seems like a bunch of people thought it might be good to wrap a piece of prosciutto. So I tried that. It was very good, although it was way too salty...I would recommend not using a full piece of prosciutto if you decide to try it.

Once again, Paula has created a easy and tasty recipe that my family enjoyed! My mom, who has been battleing small cel lung cancer since Aug 11, 2009 spends a lot of time in bed watching tv. One day she called to tell me about an asparagus dish she saw paula making on tv and how seeing paula make it made her want to cook again. This was last month. My parents came to visit on Thursday and were planning on staying until Saturday. This was mom's first mini vacay since the diagnoses and also the first stey-over other than in the hospital. I decided to make this dish with mom and it was a success...its cheap, easy and sooo good to make. Next time I will try and use less butter and add some garlic powder:-

These are always a party favorite of ours. I found a great dipping sauce on another site that is perfect with this.
    Sauce:
    2T + 2t sesame oil
    1T + 1t rice vinegar
    1T + 1 t soy sauce
    1 t sugar
    toasted sesame seeds

I made this dish last night and I think I might have to make more this evening, lol. My boyfriend, who is hard to impress, loved them. So much so that now he's trying to come with a dipping sauce for them. I don't think that they need any. But who knows, if it's good we'll try it, Thanks Paula!!!!!!!!!!!!!
