I love pickled food. The recipe is awesome. If you dont like vinegar you should stay away from pickled food . The whole point of "pickled" Its a great cocktail party food.......I will make it again

Just a response to the last comment. I too was surprised this was not the same recipe as shown on TV May 30. The recipe from the show is listed under "Bobby's Pickled Shrimp" in case anyone is looking for it.

This recipe is not at all the way it was made on TV!!! (Sat. May 30thFirst of all they cooked the shrimp in a stock they prepared with Carrots, onions, celery. parsley and thyme. Also bay leaves. Not sure if salt was also added.. Brought to a boil and then added the shrimp. Cooked until just done. (8 min. for very large shrimp. When they packed the shrimp into the jars they used The vinegart mixture, which was just enough to fill the 6 jatrs a little over half ful. They strained the shrimp stock. Then they topped of the jars with the broth from the shrimp boil..This would certainly take care of all the vinegar taste. I wonder if they changed the recipe after all the negative reviews regarding the Vinegar? Must also be why the recipe is not listed in todays Schedule. I had to put Pickled Shrimp into the search to find it.

It looks like a masterpiece in the jar and that's where the good stuff ends. The only flavor is vinager. I even read and re-read the receipe to see if I had missed an ingredient. Waste of time and money.

Wow...I love pickled foods but this was way too tart for my taste buds, especially the shrimp. I used the cider that was in the quart jar and added a little bit of olive oil, worcestershire sauce, jalapenos, red onions, salt and red pepper flakes as suggested by some of the reviews. I left it for 24 hours in the fridge before tasting it. There was a lot of flavor but the vinegar is what I could taste most. The onions and jalapenos had the best taste and flavor, I think. You could still taste the vinegar but it wasn't as much. Not to mention about the vinegar aroma as soon as you open the jar, whew...what a stinker. To be honest, I was quite disappointed. It would be better if it wasn't so tart, although eating it with a ritz cracker isn't too bad. Not really sure what I'm going to do with the rest of it. Might just end up throwing it away since I'm the only one in my family with the most diverse taste bud.

I loved this recipe. I could only wait 24 hours to try it and boy were the shrimp tart. Next time I will cut down the vinegar and add a little water. I liked them best the first day before they got too pickled.
