The recipe had everything I liked to eat, so I tried it on a whim. Well, it was such a hit that my granddaughter Amanda requested it for her birthday dinner! My whole family loved it and are always happy when I serve it.

Well, one of them did. The other snubbed his nose at it faster than we did.

Seriously tho, it was a mix that didn't work too well on the palate. It was quick and easy, and we are happy to try something new, but if you are reading this, try something else that is new & different. It can't be worse. Unless it's death. Then its a maybe.

I'm not sure what Paula Dean was drinking when she decided to "make up" this recipe, but it was hideous. A hodge podge of things in her cupboards I suppose. I do not suggest trying this one, instead spend your time researching a real chef.

The sausage part was wonderful..... had that nice apple flavor to it. But the apples tasted like the sausage which wasn't very good. Half of us liked it; the other half didn't care for the melding of the three flavors. Don't know if I'd make it again.

recipe has potencial to be good..... the problems i found ....4 to 5 apples take more than 30 minutes to cook...... should probably be stewed before added to the sasuage..... which should be ground not links..... and 450 degrees way to hot....oven needs to be cranked down ..... and last .....a few more minutes of bake time.... sorry paula

My children love this recipe, we like to share this on Sunday night with our friends after church, quick , easy and YUM-O!!!!!!!! ground sausage is what we now use instead of links, Granny Smith for the apples.

I made this with my own home-made corn bread recipe and it was fabulous. I never would have thought to pair maple syrup with corn bread, but it was fabulous. Thanks, Paula!
