I had to try this recipe simply because I couldn't imagine pineapple with cheddar cheese together. It is so good. This is the dish I have been asked to bring back to every pot-luck I've attended since I found it. It is a cross between a dessert and a side dish. I'm taking it to a breakfast potluck this morning.
It couldn't be easier either. It just takes about 5-10 minutes to throw together.
    I love this dish.

Use light brown sugar or even dark! Even a blend of the two. Also add a half cup of chopped pecans. I leave my cracker bits big. I put them on first and pour the butter on top! Yummy!

When I read the ingredients I thought it could not be good. Then I read the reviews. They are raves. Then I noticed that it was Paula. Paula would never fail us.
I was in a "cooking contest" with friends and this helped me win! Even though it sounds "wrong," it is actually wonderful.
I used 1/2 the sugar as well.

I love this recipe. My aunt used to make it when we were kids, and I fell in love with it. Recently my girlfriends & I had a potluck BBQ and I made this. Everyone was leary until they tasted it...now it's a requirement at all our gatherings that I bring this dish. It is great as a side, or can even opt as a dessert.

I can't get enough of this casserole. I have to make it for every special dinner my family has. I do have to bake it for a little while longer than the recipe states, but it may be my oven at fault and not the recipe. Thanks, Paula.
