THIS PINEAPPLE CASSEROLE HAS BEEN A STAPLE AT OUR EASTER DINNER FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS AND WILL BE ON FOREVER. MY CHILDREN ALL USE THIS RECIPE FOR THEMSELVES AND THE GRANDCHILDREN THINK FRUIT IN A CASSEROLE BEATS VEGGIES!..THAT WAS A DIRECT QUOTE. I HAVE NOT HAD A BAD RECIPE FROM PAULA AND ALL MY FAMILY AND GUEST ALWAYS ASK ME WHEN THEY ARE INVITED FOR DINNER...HOPE YOU ARE SERVING A PAULA DISH! PAULA - FABULOUS.

This is a very easy side dish. When I heard of the flavor combination, I was skeptical, but it's terrific! I've taken this casserole to several potluck dinners, and it's always very popular. If you like an extra boost of cheddar cheese flavor, try this recipe with Cheez-it crackers rather than Ritz.

Such a odd combination with cheese and pineapples, but it was delicious! My cracker crust was too moist though. Next time, I will cut the amount of pineapple juice.

I made this dish for our annual Holiday potluck this year and had many requests for the recipe. Several people commented that they never thought about combining pineapple and cheddar cheese, but loved the combination once they tasted it. I made a double batch and it was all gone. It was definitely a winner!

My family has prepared and served a similar casserole for years - identical to this, but with no cheese. It's the only way I had ever seen it until recently (and being a southern baptist - I go to a LOT of potlucks! I have since tried the cheese variation, and maybe it's because it's not what I'm used to, but I prefer it without the cheese. My family enjoys this anytime we serve ham. In fact my nephew insist on preparing the casserole for everyone because he loves it so much. And we always save the last bite or two for dessert!

I make this ecspecially at easter, but any time I cook a ham I always make this side dish at my husband's request. The only thing I do different is instead of chunk pineapple, I use tidbits. My family prefers that better. We think it is wonderful and very few friends have not cared for it. Anytime there is ham, there will always be pineapple casserole....it just seems to go together!!!

I think it is just amazing at the number of people who have never had pineapple and cheese together: I grew up on pineapple and cheese sandwiches. My high school used to serve this for lunch and I have been hunting for a good enough recipe. Good thing there's always Paula Deen!

I made this for my co-workers and out of 15 people, only 2 "liked" it. I definitely wouldn't make it again.

This recipe had me really wondering if cheese and pineapple would be good together. But, suprisingly, they are definately a great match! The only problem I had with the recipe was that the cheese did seem to get hard because I used a pre-shredded cheese the first time. After that, I grated my own and used a softer chedder cheese and it turned out GREAT! It is great with ham and pork chops, too!

I first came across this dish at a chruch pot luck in Lexington South Carolina. I begged ther recpie from the good sister after having to track her down. She didn't want to give it to me at first because is was just to quilck and easy and she had forgotten about the pot luck and just threw this together. Being the guy that I am I then misplaced the recpie. So thank you Paula for having it out on the Food Network site. I almost have it memorized. 2 cans pinapple, one pound of cheese, 2 tubes of ritz all crushed up mixed with two sticks of butter. Add a little sugar to sweeten the pineapple if it needes it then enough flour to make the pineapples stick together. Bake till bubbly and crackers are crunchy again.

Don't tell anyone it is pineapple and sharp cheddar or they won't try it. Once they try it they will beg for the recpie.
