I have no idea what I did wrong here. Two attempts and flat flat cakes each time. I used Tops brand pink lemonade powdered drink mix-I'm thinking it was something in that? The artificial sweetener perhaps? Used eggs that had just expired on first attempt, used fresh eggs for second try and still flat and dense. Third times a charm fingers crossed (this time I'll use a different box mix and different drink mix-All this for cakes for a baby shower tomorrow......

It tasted good but the frosting was grainy. I didn't realize that I was supposed to add liquid to the lemonade mix until I saw the video.

Paula's cooking always reminds me of my Grandmother who grew up in Tenessee's cooking! I Love it!!! I also love this cake - mix or not. I used a Duncan Hines white cake mix (just my personnal preference and it came out great! I have always loved Pink Lemonade, so I just had to try this! My whole family loved it. I will be making it again for our Seniors Social next week which is always a "Pot Luck" and they love me to make the desserts. I usually find something different, but very yummy, and this will fit the bill!

    ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!
Very refreshing and easy to bake. I followed the instructions perfectly. Toggled between the written ingredients and the video. I love Paula Deen. She makes cooking so easy and enjoyable.

I used like many others the powdered drink mix that you add to bottled H20 and it was very strong and we did not like it at all. I am going to try and adjust this since I have another box of white cake mix. and see how it goes. I was excited about trying this recipe but very disapointed with this recipe and directions.

This cake is easy and delicious. I used Duncan Hines cake mix but always add about 1/3 c mayo to all cake mixes to take away some of the airy-ness that box cakes have. Makes it moist and texture more like scratch cakes. Check size of your cake pans. While any cake can fail to rise as expected, if you use a 9" pan the cake will not be as thick as it is supposed to be so it appears not to rise as much. Beware of using "sugar free" lemonade mix as it will make it too sweet. I thought the cake was a winner.

Delightful summery cake! I made cupcakes instead, but followed the recipe as written except for an extra little bump of lemonade powder which made for a nice zing. Pretty color. As with other reviewers, I found the icing to be a wee sugary, which I might try to correct next time, and there will be a next time!

So, I went and got the Country Time lemaonade mix and made another one using only 2 tbsp of it. NOW it came out as it probably should although it still doesn't rise like a normal cake. (I'm thinking the drink mix has something to do with that? Very good, moist and lemony. The frosting recipe was perfect, though, and I will use that again for sure. As this original recipe is posted I'm very disappointed that they don't tell you what you can and cannot use. I understand not specifically mentioning a name brand, but c'mon!

OH MYYYYY! This was delicious! My kids devoured it. The frosting was sweet but not overpowering. It was an excellent compliment to the tartness of the cake. I will definitly make this again.
