I made this recipe exactly as directed and my 8 year old, 3 year old, and I absolutely loved it. My 8 year old loved it so much that she asked if she could take it for her school lunch tomorrow. Thank you for fabulous recipe Paula!

I agree with the others, you can definately add more "heat". My poblano pepper wasn't hot without the seeds. I added potatoes to the chowder and used Half & Half instead of cream.

DEFINATELY make the flour tortilla strips to add to the top. I added fresh squeezed lime juice to the tortilla strips while they were frying - YUMMY!

This was very good. I used roasted chicken breasts instead of grilled. Also, could not get Poblanos at the store so I used 2 jalapenos and 1 anaheim pepper. Also added a pinch of nutmeg and some red pepper flakes at the end. My husband loved it.

Oh my, this is delicious! The blend of flavors are a favorite of this Texas family. We're iced in and are loving the heat of this chowder! I highly recommend. Paula never fails!

This is spicy, warm and delicious. Perfect for a cold winter night. We loved it - even the kids!

This was wonderful! The only change I made was to boil the chicken breasts instead of grill them so that I could make the 3 quarts of broth for the recipe. It was a cold and rainy day and I didn't want to grill. It turned out great with the homemade broth! Will add this to my "book".
