  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Butter, jam, syrup or honey, for serving

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Grease 12 large muffin tin cups or 12 custard cups. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat well. Add the milk, flour, and salt, and beat until just blended. My grandmother always put the muffin tins in the oven and got them very hot before she put the batter in. She cooked them at... 400. They always came out delicious.Read more

Easily Burns & Raw on Inside

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
I love that this recipe was quick & easy, BUT at the recommended temperature my popovers burned & were not fully cooked on... the inside! I divided the batter & both times I made them, I got the same results! I'm really disappointed, but I think I'll try it again at a lower temperature. Read more

    Yummy!!!

These were great!!! Followed the instructions and found my popovers perfect at only 24 minutes so keep watch! Also, I used a... lot of butter to grease the muffin tins to get a little butter flavor. Read more

    Nice and Light

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I pre-made the batter at home and baked them at a friend's house. It was my first time to make them and they came out a... little over done... not my oven, so it may have been a little "off." Never-the-less, they were delicious. I plan to use this recipe again. P.S. Great with honey!Read more

    Perfect Popover!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
These popovers turned out so perfectly. They were NOT doughy or eggy inside. They popped and were hollow just like my... grandmother used to make. Don't over mix the batter, it should be a little runny.Read more

    Deliciious!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Thanks, Paula, for not "adding" anything to an already perfect recipe. I find that if I take these out of the oven when they... are about 1 minute away from being ready to eat, and poke each one, allowing the steam to escape and baking them for just a minute longer, they are a little dryer inside and don't collapse, and if they do collapse a bit, they are still fine. Great idea as a buscuit substitution, thanks, again.Read more
