I was born in the South and a pot roast is definately a Southern tradition. This was definitely a Southern recipe. I have cooked roasts similar to this; but, this is one of the most tender, melt in your mouth roast that I have ever had. This recipe is a keeper. My Husband loved it too.

I am not a big pot roast fan, but I tried it and it was a big hit with even the pickiest of eaters! No one used their knives, it was so tender and juicy. My husband even commented that this was the meal I should make for any future guests, instead of my ever popular pork and spinach rolls! Thanks Paula for bringing beef back to our table.

I actually hated Pot Roast but when I saw you make this on your show it looked so good I had to try it. I made it for my aunt and my boyfriend and they went back for second and thirds and so did I! I try and make this recipe once a month if not more. Your recipes are so good and so easy to follow. When I was growing up I never thought I would be a good cook. I thought cooking was for "chefs" but watching the food network and watching you made me realize cooking is easy and I can do it. I highly recommend this recipe and have given it out to co-workers and friends. Thank you so much.

I saw you make this recipe on your show. Decided the next time I made a roast I would try this recipe. Made it for my son's birthday dinner. There were SEVEN of us and I decided I would make 2 so I would have leftovers! WRONG!!! I don't know who ate the most my sons or my daughters-in-law!! My boys can eat but I think their wives kept up with them that night!! My mother usually only eats a small portion of anything but this time I think she had 3 helpings! This was 5 months ago when I first tried it & we are still talking about it! Have made it monthly since and it gets better each time! I've even been told I could make this for church gatherings because people would fight over getting a serving!! Thanks Paula for giving me a recipe that makes people think I spent all day in the kitchen when in fact it's one of the easiest meals I've made!!! Have served it with mashed potatoes, rice, and roasted potatoes and we can't decide which way we like it best! Next time we're going to try it with noodles!! ALL OF PAULA'S RECIPES ARE FANTASTIC!!! HAVEN'T FOUND ONE WE DON'T LIKE YET!!! SOUTHERN COOKS ARE THE BEST!!!

I have tried for years to make my family a perfect roast and I am proud to say," i finally did it!!" Thanks Paula Deen for this recipe it was wonderful. I put a little too much house season on it but we still devoured the whole dish. The gravy was perfect and no extra water needed. Thank you.

The easy recipe was a hit...all 14 dinner guests loved it! And I loved how easy and delicious it was! Read the directions carefully--you only need a little bit of Paula's house seasoning to rub on the roast. Thanks Paula!
