My pot roasts over the years have been somewhat blah and tasteless no matter what I did to them, thus I rarely cook them anymore. Based on the 5-star rating of this recipe I decided to give it a try, and I must say that it is one of the best that I've ever done. I wasn't sure about the cream of mushroom soup addition, but in the final product it is definitely not identifiable as such.
Paula, it's a keeper!

I've been making pot roast in my pressure cooker for over 20 years. I'd never tried one in the oven, but when I saw Paula make this, I knew I just had to try it. Well, I'm a convert! No more pressure cooker for me. This roast was so much worth the wait, not to mention the wonderful aroma throughout the house while it cooked. I added some carrots, and had half a can of diced tomatoes that I need to use up so threw those in too. Moist, flavorful, tender, GREAT GRAVY! I just wanted to sit there with a straw and suck all that up, but needed to save some for the leftovers. Can't wait to dig into those tonight!
Paula girl, best pot roast I've put in my piehole! Love You!

I made this pot roast for a football party on sunday and everyone LOVED it! I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious...tender, moist and full of flavor. Everyone had second and third helpings!!! I made Paula's cheesy garlic biscuits with the pot roast and they were great too! I will making this meal again real soon!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Paula!!!!!!!!!!!

This was absolutely the best roast I have ever had, hands down! Saw Paula making it on the show and had to try it. It was sooo moist and the gravy was perfect! Not to mention my house smelled so good all day! It was quite simple and easy. I am definitely making it again!

This was the best roast I've ever had. Changed the recipe to: cabernet sauvignon wine instead of chardonnay; cooked in dutch oven @ 350 for 31/2 hours. Added celery, carrots, sliced baby bellas after 1 1/2 hours of cooking. It came out soooo good. I was absolutely impressed with myself! Thank you Paula!!!!!

Now I have a pot roast recipe I can't screw up. The best! All of the ingredients were easy to find, and perfect seasoning. I did use salt, pepper and garlic per my own tastes rather than the house blend. It's the same thing just perhaps different amounts. My husband loved this and went back for seconds. Thank you Paula! You've made the the pot roast queen at our house!

This pot roast was easy, no fuss and the ingredients readily available. Best of all it had great taste and texture. I used a rump roast from a farmer in our area and used your directions. I just cooked my another hour.

I saw Paula make this on Saturday and knew I had to try it. I usually collect recipes but wind up never making them. Well, I made this on Sunday and my picky husband said I outdid myself. It was the best pot roast I've ever had, let alone made. The only thing I did differently was used a barbeque seasoning blend on the roast instead of her house blend. I've recommended this recipe to all my friends. I know they'll love it as much as my husband and I do. Thanks Paula!!!

I barely got to eat any as my Hubby and son gobbled the whole roast up!
