I don't understand the butter ingredient in this recipe. Do you saute the onions and peppers in the 1 stick of butter? Or is this saute step using extra butter? If it's extra butter, do you then melt the 1 stick of butter or just cut it in pieces over the sliced potatoes?

Paula's deliscious potato casserole! This dish is my #1 favorite recipe and I love preparing it! 1/2 stick of butter works just as fine. I sprinkle some garlic salt or garlic powder, parsley, and crushed red peppers for variety!

I used "cheater" mashed potatoes (store bought and substituted red peppers for the green peppers.
I took this dish to a supper club and everyone loved it!

I have a husband that can eat anything and when I try to find food for him I hope it works .
Because he will eat all night. And thanks to you I have to Patato Casserole to feed him now. And No food from that goes to waste.

Thank you very much , My Daughters love it to. I made it for a party for my sister and That was the only dish that did not come back home . It was all gone before we left the party , Now people are asking me how and what .
So Now when we have family get togethers. That is the dish.

I made these for a family get together, they all loved it. I making it for Easter this year. I was told to bring it to every family dinner.
