Paula pleases my palate deliciously with this recipe. It certainly deserves 5 stars, but it was frustrating trying to get the entire recipe printed out on the 3x5 card. It was missing the oven temperature and a complete sentence on the second card. I am finding this is the norm for most all the 3x5 cards I've tried to print out. Doesn't anyone ever edit these recipes cards before they're posted on the Food Channel? It sure is getting annoying. A frustrated grannymandy

Pretty good stuff! Everybody liked it! A lot of prep on it, but I'd do it again.

I made these for Christmas Eve with my family. They loved this dish and made it clear they expect me to make it again. I did't put in the bell pepper because my son doesn't like them. I did it with several layers of everything. Also, I used mashed potatoes for the whole thing. Awesome!!

So yummy! I added cream of potato soup on mashed potatoes and beef with the onions/bell pepper. I will be making this on my usual rotation!

This is my new most favorite potato recipe ever!!!! We loved it! I didn't have any bacon on hand but it was great without it. Next time I most definely will add the bacon, it is a win-win!

Vanette, I have made this casserole more than once and it is fantastic. I usually use home made mashed potatoes, but the instant potatoes should work just fine. You can now find them already mashed in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores. As for the potato that you use sliced I always boil mine whole before slicing and let them cool of before trying to handle them. Hope I could help and enjoy making this over the weekend.
