I cannot believe that this didn't come out good!!! I'm reading the reviews and everyone seemed to enjoy it so much. I made it today for my family and not one person liked it. The sour cream turned sour - and the onions didn't blend well with the dish at all....what did I do wrong???

This dish reminded me of the insides of a twice baked potato. The only thing I messed up was putting the sour cream on the hot mashed potatoes....it made the sour cream curdle. Oh well, it was still delicious. Will definately make this again.

The ONLY thing I regret from making this recipe for the first time is that now I have to make it EVERY WEEK for my kids!!! THEY LOVE IT!!

I found this recipe just OK. It was similar to my scallop potatoes. My family ate it but perfers the scallops. I enjoy Paula's recipes so I will continue to make her others; just not this one.

This was utterly fantastic exactly as written - didn't change a thing and it was perfect. Thank you, Paula!

This is definitely delish....but so not good for you. LOL! Eat it in moderation. Anywho, the first time I made it, I followed the recipe and was overwhelmed by the amount of butter. An entire stick is way too much. Cutting back to half a stick (or even less is better.

This reply is for Tinky. The recipe calls for both mashed, which is the bottom layer, and cooked sliced potatoes. Hope this helps clarify!

The only thing I did differently was cut the butter in half and add mushrooms. Absolutely fabulous!
