Excellent Soup! Easy and quick to make. I did not use the 1/2 and 1/2 and used pre-cooked shrimp as well as corn. Definitely another great recipe from Paula.

Tasty ain't the word for it. This soup ROCKED. Everybody here ate some, and then ate more later. The man of the house ate 4 bowls. Wow, I love this recipe. Yum!
I omitted the shrimp and just added some corn. This soup is delicious! THANKS, PAULA!!! Oh yes, and I want to add that I made an iron skillet of cornbread to go with this soup........ and it was a perfect complement. I added shredded cheese, corn, and some chopped up jalapenos to the cornbread batter and it all was delicious together.

Excellent! I used whole milk and found it to be so creamy that I didn't add the half and half -even though I had already bought it. (It is Paula Deen so you know that this is rich. Also, I added celery salt and cayenne pepper - for flavor. I did not use shrimp and I used veggie bouillon instead - needed to keep it veggie friendly for some - I divided it in half and added cubed ham to the other half. Everyone was happy! If you don't mind the fat...I would strongly suggest adding some good quality sharp cheddar to the entire pot right before serving.
