First time making home-made soup! Overall I think this soup came out very good... my boyfriend loved it. My only complaint was it was a little too bland so I had to add extra salt and pepper. I also added spicy sausage and will add corn next time.

I made this soup last night and I also added corn and shrimp. It taste amazing!! I didn't add the bacon or the carrotts however. I can't wait to use this base and keep creating!!

Made with 4 cups of 1% milk, about 12 oz.of clam juice that I had in the freezer and about 3/4cup of light cream. Added fresh thyme during the saute, then a turkish bay leaf and Old Bay seasoning during the potato cooking. As another reviewer suggested, I simmered it on low for almost an hour. Very tasty. Look forward to adding the shrimp tomorrow.

This recipe is the greatest. I also add corn with shrimp and a few bay leaves. I also add a dash of Old Bay to give it that real chowder taste. I recommend this for the warm winter nights or on rainy days. I'm eating some as I type!

This is one of THE BEST SOUPS!!! I got this recipe and made it last minute. It was so simple and cooked really quickly. I, honestly, wasn't expecting much and when I tasted it, I couldn't believe the flavor. It was soooooo delicious!!! Yummy!!!

I did add corn along with the shrimp and I changed up the measurements the second time I made it cause it went way too fast. I doubled basically everything, except the potatoes and used 3 buillon cubes, instead of 4. Amazing soup!

This is some of the best soup I've ever had!!! My mom used to make a fantastic seafood "chowderesque" soup and this tastes identical. We've made it half a dozen times in the last 8 weeks, and we use shrimp and corn.

Hey 3girlsmom10 I'm going to try it with spicy sausage, great idea.
