Made these yesterday. Followed the recipe. Baked for 40 min. still might have been slightly over done. Based on reviews I was expecting a WOW! It was good, but no WOW. My wife felt the same way.

Ok, so I finally made these today. I do find them a great substitute for pumpkin pie, I will be testing with my family this year. They are definitely sweet, rich, and dense. I might have cooked mine for a little too long since the bottom part of the cake was a little dark. Nonetheless, they are good but personally they are overrated.

I made this last week so it could be sampled BEFORE taking one for a church dinner tomorrow. Everyone LOVED it!!! I used a spice cake mix instead of the yellow cake mix and it was almost like a graham cracker crust. Everyone agreed that it seemed like a cross between a pumpkin pie and a pumpkin cheesecake. You can't get much better than that!! I have one in the oven right now for the church dinner tomorrow. Can't wait for the reviews on that one!!

Oh......My.....God!!! So so good! With 2 sticks of butter and 1 box of powdered sugar, how can you go wrong? I did use 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice instead cause that's what I like and it was still outrageously good. You must try!

Add an extra egg to each layer for a firmer cake! Also try a 15oz can of sweet potato puree instead of pumpkin! My husband,a confirmed pumpkin hater, adores this. Hey Paula - discovered this one yet?
