I loved this recipe. My husband is not a big pumpkin fan and he loved this one. I look forward to making it during the fall.

I absolutely did not add the 8 T. of butter to the pumpkin layer. The final result was very tasty, but I will cut the sugar in half next time. Yum!

I made this recipe last Thanksgiving for at my husbands hunting camp. The men went crazy (even several who claimed not to like pumpkin! It's so quick and easy. Again, I made it this past weekend for the same group -- same response! All of the men told their wives "You've got to get this recipe". So that's what I'm doing now, making copies for everyone. Thanks for such great ideas. You've made me a hit!

...cause this dessert is a DREAM! I have made this on several occasions and I never cease to get people raving over it. Yes, it's rich and sugary and fattening as all hell, but isn't that the point of a good dessert????
The directions are simple and easy to follow. The results are amazing! Be sure to make plenty of fresh whipped cream to go with it. I have not tried the variations yet because the pumpkin is so popular, but I bet they are just as good too. If you have, I would love to hear your results.
You will definitely enjoy this one. Many thanks to Paula Dean for sharing!

I made this twice, once for a dinner at my home and again for a work party. Everyone loved it! People were asking for more after it was done. Be careful like Paula says not to overcook, second time I did and it was not as gooey.

This recipe is so wonderful! It's a great, allbeit 'not great for you', holiday recipe. A good alternative to pumpkin pie.

I made this for the first time last Turkey Day - What a hit! My friends & co-workers request it every time we have a function.
To the gal that had trouble w/the recipe (11/2 review. The yellow cake mixture should be pretty dry - it needs to be pressed into the bottom of the pan - it's like a shortbread. The pumpkin mixture then goes on top of that. Good luck - it's WONDERFUL!

We have tried the pumpkin, pinapple, and peanutbutter cakes and everyone who had some loved it.
