What exactly is the point of watering down the basic pumpkin pie recipe with cream cheese and increasing the calories with half and half? Also, why not use Splenda instead of sugar? It works just as well if not better than sugar. With this recipe, what you get is a pie that tastes LESS like pumpkin than Libby's time-honored recipe. I threw it away and made some standard pumpkin pies which taste MORE like pumpkin. Pretty basic stuff if you ask me.

This was my first time making pumpkin pie and I wanted to find one that was easy to do. This was very easy and it is delicious!!! I wasn't sure how we would like the cream cheese in it but it was amazing!!! No offense to my mother in law but I think this may be better than hers!!!! Hahaha!!!

I think about 1 in 10 people are put-off by this recipe due to the cream cheese. I can see how some people would like this recipe, but unfortunately it is just not for me. I suppose I prefer more of a traditional pumpkin pie recipe where the rich custard plays partner to the pumpkin - this one definitely had a bit of a cream cheese aftertaste which I find a bit bitter in contrast to the pumpkin. I used a major brand name fat free cream cheese - maybe the fat free stuff was my mistake.

I am still going to eat it and enjoy it for what it is though!

Lighter than your average pumpkin pie, and delicious. Took it to a neighbor's dinner and they claimed it the best pumpkin pie they'd ever tasted.

The cream cheese really made it taste like a pumpkin cheescake. While my mom liked it, I was not as enthused. If you're looking for a traditional tasting pumpkin pie I would not suggest this recipe.

Excellent flavor. This recipe will make at 3 pumpkin pies and 2 deep dish pies.

AMAZING! My husband and I were looking for an easy recipe for pumpkin pie, and this is a hit! It's so delicious that it doesn't even need the whipped cream. I rarely follow a recipe to the letter, but there's no way to improve this perfection.

I recommend using the ginger if you can. It's worth it!
