Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of potato soup
  • 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 soup can milk
  • 1 soup can half-and-half
  • 1 pound claw crabmeat, picked free of any broken shells
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

In a large saucepan, melt the butter and saute the onion until translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the soups, milk, and half-and-half. Add the crabmeat and bring just to a boil. Add the sherry and salt and pepper, to taste. Serve immediately. Or allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate or freeze immediately in plastic microwavable reusable containers with lids.

This was my first attempt at any type of seafood stew, soup, or bisque. I have to say i will be making it again for sure. It... was easy and inexpensive to make. Once it was done it was not 20 minutes and it was gone. All the roomates and my buddies loved it (I'm a dorm room chef at college). I did make minor alterations to the recipe. These included flour for thickening and old bay for a little extra kick of flavor. Top it off with a parsley or celery garnish and you have a meal fit for kings.Read more

Cooking for my chef husband can be intimidating but recipes like this make me proud to cook for him!!! I made the recipe as... is and it was great. The only thing it needed was salt which each person should add to there own bowls. Do that to avoid over salting. Thanks Paula!Read more
