Not sure if I did something wrong but although the apples looked absolutely beautiful and shiney they were not eatable! I allowed them to cool for several hours before trying one and I actually thought my teeth were going to fall out, they were so sticky and gooey! Not hard and crackley like I thought they would be, like I remember the ones from the fair were. I was so disappointed with these as I was planning on making them for trick or treaters this year. The trick would definently be on them if I handed these out!

I have been looking for this recipe for a long time. We had these candy apples as kids and now we can make them for our grandchildren. Mahalo Paula, you're the best!!!!

This is a great recipe for candy apples. The cinnamon flavor is really a treat! And the candy does stick to the apples instead of sliding off. Of course, the excess will run to the bottom, but the candy stays on the apples and hardens fast.
