I burned the almonds, didn't have celery, and made up my own Dijon mustard, and this was still GREAT! Am very surprised at the flavor and how good this is. Loved it!

I made this recipe for a casual buffet lunch with friends, and I liked it. But I was amazed at how much my friends LOVED it! I know there are lots of enthusiastic reviews for this dish, but the last reviewer didn't have such a good experience, so I was prepared for it to just be OK. The only changes were red bell pepper for green (cuz I never buy green bells anymore and regular mustard for honey mustard, since I didn't have any. You are adding honey anyways, so I don't think it makes much difference. Just remember... 5 cups of shredded cabbage is not very much, so if your salad is dry, you probably have more cabbage than you think, and need to adjust the dressing and other ingredients accordingly. That's what I did, and it came out nicely. Thanks Paula! :-

Umm...Tried this recipe for a family get together and it did not go over as well as I had expected. No one raved about it and others said they would prefer traditional coleslaw. My personal opinion-a lovely looking dish, but thought it was a little dry and the green onion was a little overpowering. I would never crave this dish, so I would never make again. It was very disappointing since there were so many excellent reviews.
