These were exceptional and my guests couldn't stop raving about them. I made them into sliders. I did add some extra bread crumbs to help them stay together better. Once they got a good sear on one side they were much sturdier. I cooked them ahead of time on a griddle and then warmed them up a bit in the oven and they were not dry at all. They were delicious.
Delicious!!! This was the first time I ever made salmon burgers.I put the salmon in the food processor.I left out the peppers & the sesame oil which I didn't have, made them into sliders & put on slider buns.My husband who isn't a fan of fish especially salmon loved it.I would definitely make these again. It was so easy to make.
This was the first salmon burger I ever made, and I don't see any reason to try a different recipe. Make sure to chop the bell peppers pretty small, it helps with the texture. I've made them a couple hours early and let them chill in the fridge before cooking...fiance said they stayed together on the grill just fine for him. I added a couple chopped scallions, and added sliced avocado to the toppings. I would highly recommend adding avocado! The sesame mayo is great too. They reheated fine for me when I used the oven/toaster oven, but I once mistakenly microwaved one and it was not great. Great recipe.
I don't love salmon, but I LOVE these burgers. I haven't served them to anybody that didn't love them too.
These were delicious!!!! I added a bit more panko crumbs to hold them together and grilled them on a vented pan on the grill so they wouldn't fall through. The sesame mayo adds a nice flavor. They were great leftover, so make a batch and eat them through the week. I will definitely make these again.
Followed the recipe to a tee and it was great. I grilled the burgers indoors. The mayonnaise was a real discovery.
Didnt have Panko used italian bread crumbs instead, used egg beaters instead of eggs and only added lemon juice to mayonnaise. Despite all of the modifications It still tasted great!
Its fast and easy as well as healthy! Love it!
The flavor was terrific for these burgers but my problem was that they wouldnt stay together after I put in pan. I think it will need more panko. My boyfriend who is not a huge salmon eater loved these!
Fast, simple, and soooo good! Will definitely make it again.
Very tasty and substituted egg whites for the eggs! Can we get the nutrition information on this recipe???
OMG good! I saw it on tv while Paula was making it. I happened to have all the ingredients, I made it the next day! I mix some of my smoked salmon with the salmon; I replaced red pepper with chopped broccoli with red onion. I made cold slaw, Asian style, the night before. I wish you could see the photo! As for the Mayo, I replaced with "Fire red pepper Mayo", just a twist, an amazing one! All in all, sweetness from tomato, savory and flavorful, love it!
I followed the recipe to a T and my fresh lake michigan salmon made the best salmon burgers i have ever had in my life by far. Thank you so much for making it so easy for myself and my 5 year old son to enjoy fish together.
Delicious! Rave reviews from all members of our family (ages 3 to 37!. REALLY good on sprouted grain buns! We didn't do the peppers as I have one who would not have eaten them with either green or red "stuff" in it!
We did have trouble keeping them together to put on the grill, so we opted to set them on tin foil on top of the grate. Worked great except we forgot to oil the foil first. So when we went to flip they were stuck to the foil. My husband flipped them and then peeled to foil off after the started to sear on the other side.
We didn't use any toppings, just a bun that had a crunch from being grilled for a few seconds. Yum! It was put on the keeper list by 4 out of 4 family members!
Absolutely delicious! I was worried they would fall apart on the grill, but they held together great! I also didn't use a bun, instead made it into a lettuce wrap! I will make these over and over!
i made these last night and they were a big hit!!...i love the taste of the salmon and the mayo was perfect with it. i will definately be making this easy and simple!!
Yummers! I did things a little different (used a pita pocket vs a bun and didn't use the mayo but the salmon burger was soooo good! I'd never made salmon burgers before but these were very easy and, again, DELICIOUS!
These were fantastic! Now, I am not much of a salmon eater (it is my boyfriend but I thought I would give these a go and it was great. Lovely flavor, texture, and very moist. I sometimes dry out salmon but with this recipe it is very hard to do ( probably the egg. I would definitely recommend the recipe. I did substitute onions for the peppers since he isn't a huge fan. Happy eating everyone :
I love this recipe! I added fresh ginger to the burgers and only used red pepper. I will definitely make this again. YUM!
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! I skipped the peppers and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. They came out so yummy and moist. My family loved these!! They were also very pretty and simple to make. The sesame mayo was a great addition...very yummy!
These were full of so much flavor, I did make a few changes like the other viewer. I followed Ina Garten recipe for roasting the salmon. Instead of adding soy sauce, I added worcestershire sauce & 1/4 of a red onion. My husband loves salmon so the burger was a hit with him; my daughter do not care for fish but she liked the burgers. I will be using this recipe in the future this a keeper. Thanks!!!
Unbelievably good! I followed the recipe exactly except I added a little heat in the form of a red chile pepper from my garden. Oh and about a quarter cup of chopped onion. Chilled them in the fridge for about a half hour before grilling them on a pretty hot gas grill preheated to 375 degrees. 8 minutes total. 4 times 2, so you flip and rotate them every 2 minutes. They held together perfectly. Also I used non fat mayo for the sauce, egg beaters instead of the whole egg, and some "Can't Believe" butter and really I don't think anyone would be able
to tell the difference. If you're watching the cholesterol, a few simple substitutes and you are there!
I love this burger!!! My family and I wanted fish for dinner, and we came across this recipe. It's so easy to make and delicious to eat!!!
My hubby just made these for good! Saving to my recipe box. Will make this one again!
My wife's comment was that this was the best thing she has eaten all year. Somebodies hint about freezing the patties for 20 minutes was helpful as I could see the patties easily coming apart. I am going to try again but with a Lemon Dill mayo instead. Felt the salmon could use a little more acid.
try this on 7/14/11 and it was great but i will add more onoins i will make this for my staff at work thanks paula deen
These are good, but I think I made mine better by adding about a half cup chopped onion that I sauteed with the peppers. I also added about one tablespoon lemon zest and about 1 tsp cajun seasonings. What sent this over the edge was to roast my salmon and then cut and cube it up. The roasting gives it such a wonderful and complex flavor. I got the idea of Ina Garten the Barefoot Contessa and she was right. Her recipe is pretty similar except she puts mayo in hers and she didn't use lemon. So I kind mixed 2 recipes to create my own.
The best I've ever made. To the salmon mix also added 1 teaspoon of dried parsley, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and some lemon zest in addition to the lemon juice. To the mayo added toasted sesame seeds and doubled the sesame oil. Even though my son doesn't care much for salmon he loved it. My spouse said it was better than anything he ever had in a restaurant.
Really good and easy to make. I added black pepper to the salmon mixture, a bit more garlic and upped the soy sauce some, too. Next time I think I will add more lemon juice as well. I put the patties in the freezer for 20 minutes before I pan fried them and they held together with no problems. I made the mayo sauce as directed. My husband, who does not usually like salmon in any form, really liked these burgers and has asked me to make them again. I enjoyed them, too.
    Thanks, Paula!
