I had some salmon in the fridge and didn't feel like plain, old grilled salmon. This recipe was a great switch. My husband loved them and he can be kind of picky. I put some extra seasonings in and added a bit of mayo to help it all stick. Yum!

My husband is a salmon patty afficianado (or so he thinks lol and he requested that I make some tonight. I found Paula's recipe and with the additions of a heaping tablespoon of mayonnaise, an extra egg (because the mixture was too dry to stick together, 1 1/2 tbsp dried parsley, 1 tsp minced garlic, and crushed Bacon & Onion flavored croutons instead of bread crumbs, I made a hit. The patties browned up crisp yet moist in olive oil at 300 degrees. He likes his with red wine vinegar. I'm a ketchup girl. Thanks Paula for a great base for culinary imagination!

I had made baked salmon that was so-so, nothing too exciting. Had substantial leftovers and did not want that gorgeous (and expensive! fish to go to waste, and I found this recipe - it was amazing!!!
I removed the skin from the baked salmon fillets (they were garlicky and herb-y and flaked with a fork, and basically followed the exact recipe. The only change I made was substituting Japanese Panko for regular breadcrumbs, and the crispy golden results were UNBELIEVABLE! I just squeezed some fresh lime juice once it was served and it was such a wonderful change - my husband was torn between eating more or ensuring he'd have leftovers for the next day!!!

These are the same I've made for years. They are so quick to put together that the sides are still simmering and the salmon patties are formed up and ready to go in the pan. So I form the patties, then put them in the fridge until about 5 min before theare done. Then I fry them up so everything is done at the same time. Also, Paula said her boys like cane syrup with their salmon patties. My family loves to use bottled thousand island dressing for dipping. Hey, whatever works!

Thank you for this recipe Paula. My fiance is a health nut so I'm always looking for good things to cook for him that taste great and aren't high in fat, sodium etc. These were a breeze to put together, delicious and fit the bill nutritionally too!

I needed a larger recipe, so I added a baked, chopped Alaskan Salmon filet to the canned salmon. I then added a tsp of Italian seasoning to the mixture, and the final result was terrific! I knew it was great because my husband isn't a big salmon fan, and he loved it.

This was quick and easy. I made just one substitution (cracker crumbs instead of bread crumbs but they worked just fine. Dinner was done in less than 20-30 minutes! A winner...thanks Paula.
