These tasted pretty good, but were very ugly to look at. Mine turned out to be a big mess. I followed the recipe exactly, so next time I will try some of the variations the other reviewers suggested. They fell apart while baking and I had to press them back together halfway through, and the cheese got too brown and crusty. We did eat them though, and they had a good taste. I think less Bisquick and more liquid is a must. Also, I tried the mayonaisse dip and did not like it. I used strawberry jam instead.

This has always been a favorite of mine but I had not made it in a while until Paula brought it back to mind. I had used a little more than 2 cups of biscuit mix. I do think 3 cups would be too much but I'll give it a try. I am not sure about the sauce. I'd think a sweet sauce would be better if you wanted one.

I am glad I read the reviews before trying them. I took they advice of some of the others and used less bisquick and added a few other ingrediants. I added about a half a cup of sour cream, 1/2 a tablespoon of mustard, 1/2 teaspoon of dill, and 1 teaspoon parsley. I also only used 2 cups of bisquick instead of three. They turned out delicious and the sauce went well with them. It is very simple, but it turns out to be a creamy spicy mustard sauce that goes perfect with the sausage. I can see how many people thought that these were too dry. If you don't add any type of wet ingrediant and use the full amount of bisquick they would be really dry. Take the advice of others and then give them a try. They are a delicious, quick and easy appitizer.

I have been making these sausage balls for a couple of years before I saw Paula make it. I took them to a get together with our friends and now I am never allowed to get together with them unless I promise to bring these with me they are great.

I will admit that I have a hard making them without eating half of them as I do. They are so good!

This was a fast and easy way to make finger food for company. They were delicious, but be careful not to leave them out too long... eat them up quickly, they tend to harden for some reason. But the flavor is quite good.

Youll need to add mlk, a few drops at a time to this recipe. If you dont, it simply doesnt come together, your baking mix and cheese crumble together but the sausage, for the most part, remains separate. If you try to bake it this way, it comes out a mess. Only add just enough milk to meld the ingredients together, you dont want it wet or soupy, just moist, to form it together. I also use a weighted small sized cookie scoop to make sure they are of uniform size for baking.

This recipe lacked flavor and the dough was overpowering. I added milk to make it more pliable to roll into balls.

I have to say that this is one of our holiday family traditions to get up on christmas morning and pop these right into the oven. I always freeze mine ahead of time so there is no preparation.
For those that say it is too dry, try adding just a small amount of milk. NOT A LOT....just enough to give it a bit of moisture. I usually add a little under a 1/2 cup of milk.
