I used fresh celery sausage, (that's all I had added grated onion, small amount of garlic, and all turned out great! Very easy to put together, easy to make dip too. Had no problem with being to dry, I guess because I added the grated onion.

I wondered on seeing the show: "Where's the liquid?" After reading all the reviews I decided to add 1/2 c. whole milk, and all was well. It being fresh corn season, I also added fresh raw sweet corn (2 ears, cut from cob which helped balance all the animal fat. They were a hit at 2 different parties!

I'll rewatch how she prepares these next time it comes on, but I think I'll stick to the recipe that I got off the Betty Crocker (bisquick web site.
They seem to be similar.
Try their olive-cheese balls, too. Tasty morsels!

I have Paula's cookbook- the recipe calls for 350 degree oven not 375. Also cook time in the cookbook shows 15 minutes not 18. This maybe why everyone's are turning out bad. The recipe in book says to add little bits of water when forming balls- it helps!

A family favorite rescued...I thought this recipe was gone forever after my family died. Thanks Paula! Don't over cook it, it is fabulous.

I've been making these for years and they come out perfect time now. To the folks who say they came out dry, I believe you have over-cooked them. My first ones were a little disapointing for that reason. Try again and cut the cooking time a bit - remember Paula mentioned that 18 minutes works for her oven, but may not be just right for yours. Also, I always use a "hot" sausage for extra flavor. Good luck.

This recipe was so simple! I am just starting to learn how to cook, and it was fool- proof! On top of that, it was good and my boyfriend loved them. When you are starting to learn how to cook, shamefully at 23, it is a relief when something is good, and people get excited!
Thanks so much for the recipe... it beat cereal on a weekend morning!

This recipe yields ALOT of sausage balls. They are good, but a bit dry, so make sure you make the dip that comes with them. We also used BBQ sauce, and that was good also. If you like things spicy like me, use a "hot" sausage, it comes out great!
