We eat this all the time, but I use boxed pancakes. We always have this for dinner it fills you up so well. My husband would eat it 2 times a week if I made it.
We have also mixed the sausage into the pancake batter and it helps to make it a little less messy.

I just use my standard pancake recipe for this recipe, and it is a great idea. we have varied it with bacon and other things too. I wasn't too sure when I saw the recipe but hubby was so excited. I fell in love with it. So if there is an error in the recipe just check out other pancake recipes to make sure your pancakes come out right. They don't have to be special pancakes.. they just have to be a pancake to make this recipe work! Enjoy it!

I did not get pas the pancake recipe, because it tasted awful. Obviously I should have read the reviews before I attempted the recipe. Also, it is evident that the reviews on the pancake recipe have been ignored by food network. I figured Paula Deen (GOOD, but not!!!!

I watched this show again on 6/27/08 at 12:00 and I listened very close to the recipe and where it says 2 1/2 cups ALL PURPOSE FLOUR Paula used 2 1/2 cups SElf RISING FLOUR this makes all the difference in the pancake mix. Maybe the people who had trouble with this recipe would want to try it again.

I am not sure if they left out the baking powder for this recipe but the pancakes did not turn out at all! Pancakes are easy to make, have done it for years. This recipe made more of a very thick crepe than a pancake.

The pancake didn't turn out right because there wasn't any baking soda in the recipe. Maybe it was a erro on the recipes. The filling was good but the pancake wasn't.

I made this for breakfast for my family and it was delicious. I usually make this type of breakfast, but when I did this the kids enjoyed eating it all together. Thanks Paula for another great meal.
