Haven't tried the cake yet, but the fudge sauce was spectacular! It was rich, sweet, and had exactly the right consistency.

My son was looking at all of the cakes on the website and chose this one! I followed it as best I could but had to makeshift buttermilk. The cake turned out amazing and the fudge sauce was even better!
    Yummy!!!

The cake was wonderful, we put mint chocolate chip ice cream on top. When I was making the fudge sauce I had to shut it off. To answer the door, so I cooked it a little to long. It was very tasty a little crunchy but great. Won't answer the door next time.

Fine flavor but it really is remarkably dry - even the hot fudge on top couldn't save it. The shortening seems like an odd choice and maybe that contributes to the texture. I tossed half the cake and won't be wasting time or ingredients on this one again.

I made this cake last night for my husband's 40th birthday. I really wanted a good chocolaty cake. I wish I would have stuck to what my brain was telling and used Betty Crockers Triple Chocolate Cake Mix. This cake was just OK. I won't be wasting time on it again.

OMG absolutely delicious. I am in love with Paula Deen. If you are cooking for someone who loves chocolate, this will be the winner-you might end up with a ring or something.
