My cake came out a liitle dry. Combined with the sauce this is very rich. We added raspberries, and would also be good with ice cream or whipped topping.

This is my new favorite dessert! The sauce is so differant from ordinary icing. I do have to say when the recipe says "Simmer until the mixture becomes thick and creamy, about 8 minutes" you need to remove it from the heat for it to get real thick. That is the ONLY flaw. You hit this one out of the park, Paula!

very disappointed...there are so many better chocolate cake recipes. the cake was light but not moist or very chocolatey or rich. one would think anything would be good with hot fudge sauce all over it but this cake just doesn't cut it!

This cake is credibly moist due to the buttermilk. It is very similar to a coke cola sheet cake recipe. I definitely recommend this cake to anyone who loves a moist chocolate cake.
