Very easy recipe, however being from the midwest it was a bit of a challenge locating some of the ingredients. Local stores and my food distributors wasn't able to find the gumbo (fresh, frozen, or even canned. Our pastor is from the south and he had five cans on hand, my prayers were answered.

I think Dee from Powell, Ohio needs to read the recipe for the gumbo again. It only calls for 2 teaspoons of the hous seasoning. The recipe for the house seasoning shown was for a large quantity, not all of it to be used in this recipe alone. This recipe is great, as are all of Paula's that I have tried.

I made this for our 1st anniversay dinner gathering. This is a great starter recipe for gumbo, really allows for deviation. Instead of the scallops and oysters I included chicken, shrimp, crawfish tails, and sweet & hot italian sausage. This was a absolute hit. We had no left overs and I made a huge pot with buttered rice. TRY THIS RECIPE IT'S A WINNER.

Although this recipe required a lot of processing time it was absolutely delicious. It was so good that my mother called me the next day to ask if I had any left. Now if mom liked it, I know it was great!

This recipe was easily made and very
tasty with room to add additional cayenne pepper and garlic should your
taste desire. My hubby has taken the
gumbo to work with him and
several of his co-workers wanted to try
some. I was more than happy to send
more gumbo the following day!!!!!!
