One of my family's favorites. To save time I use instant potatoes. Great the next day too!

Decent flavor but too many prepared sauces and ingredients.

Recipe is very good. I don't use as much butter on top of the biscuit layer and it still taste great. I also use veggie crumbles instead of ground beef and the recipe becomes an amazing vegetarian dish!

Had an interesting taste.....however, I am more fond of the original british recipe. Always love trying Paula's recipes however. Also, this recipe made 3 - 9" pie's........if I use it again I will at least half the recipe for a 9" pie dish waaay to much to pack into one pie dish.

I thought the bisquit and potatoes were good, but the ground beef mixture was too bland for me. I won't use this recipe again.

I really did not like this particular recipe. I am used to a creamy Shepherd's Pie and this was Tomato based which I am not fond of. However, I do love trying new recipes. Thanks Paula Deen.

Very good basic recipe. Next time I'll try with roast beef and not ground. I too added some seasoning: garlic & hot sauce. My only problem was the size pan. Did everyone really use a 9 X 9? I used a tiny bit larger 8 X 11 dish and wished I'd used a 9 X 13. I'm glad I placed my dish on a baking sheet or I'd be cleaning my oven tonight! I did not drain my 7% fat ground beef, used both cans of tomato sauce and did not find it too soupy.

Very good, but I did tweak the recipe a bit to my taste... a tomato gravy with the ground beef didn't sound appealing, so I made a brown gravy using a few TBS of flour and a can of beef broth... very remiscient of salisbury steak, yum (just wish I would have had mushrooms! I used a can of corn, drained, for the veggie layer, although mixed veggies would have been good too, had I had any. To the biscuit mixture, I added cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and a dash of italian seasoning... it turned out so great! The butter on top is the perfet touch. Delicious and easy dish to make.
