This was filling and very tasty. I used leftover roast for mine and it turned out really good.Great for fall/winter and it stetches your buck. Thanks Paula!

It was goods but a little on the bland side. My family made it for a quick dinner which was better than havin sandwiches or cereal. We omitted the veggies and tomatoe sauce because those were two things we did not have. Also instead of garlic cloves we used garlic powder. Could be better.

My kids don't care for vegetables mixed with the beef so I omitted them and the tomatoes completely. Due to time constraints, I used an instant potato mix but added in some butter and sour cream. Instead of biscuits, I topped it with cheddar cheese, baked it and served it with a brown gravy mix. They loved it and that's all that mattered. This was a great "foundation" recipe and a keeper!!

You can use any leftover meat and sauce in this type of pie. I've made it with leftover taco meat, pot roast, braised beef in wine, braised chicken or pulled pork.

What's with the ground beef? I searched this recipe 'cause it looked so good on the show that aired yesterday. But Paula prepared it with beef from a pot roast. I don't have leftover pot roast to use. I don't want ground beef. Any suggestions?

Have not tried this recipe yet so will give it a 4 based on the written appeal of the recipe. Most Brits ( especially the older generation know that Shepherds Pie is traditionally made with ground lamb -- shepherd = lamb.
As a child growing up in Britain, Paula's type of recipe was always called cottage pie in our home. I know that the terms are mostly interchangeable today so this is not a criticism but rather a bit of trivia.

I made this recipe last night for company, and it was a huge hit! everyone loved it! i put a layer of sharp cheddar cheese on top of the potatoes, and one on top of the veggies. I also added3 cloves of minced garlic to my onions and meat, which was amazing! i LOVED the bisquick on top!

This recipe was good, but I doctored it up a bit, added all spice, adobo, and cinnamon to the meat. I put peas, carrots, and corn right into the meat after cooking and adding tomato sauce/paste< just add water if you don't have the sauce! and I used Bisqucik instant biscuit mix... voila! great dish! And you can substitute red potatoes for just the reg. ol potatoes!
