My husband absolutely loves this recipe. As a man from Georgia, he says it tastes like home. Thanks for the house seasoning... recipe, I made it and use it on more than just this recipe. Hopefully no one thinks they were supposed to put a whole cup of salt on these short ribs :) I usually add a little Cajun seasoning just for a little extra zip of flavor, just depends on my mood when cooking.Read more

I set aside time to watch Paula do this recipe since there were some remarks that were negative, went and bought the... ingrediants to have everything on hand. She did not do the recipe, only pulled out some ribs she said she had done the day before and put them in the soup. This was very misleading and a waste of my time.Read more

    What You Say!!!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Girl, I really don't want to say a white girl took me back to my childhood (lol) But I have too. I hadn't had this since I... was about eight years old ( 48 now). I just figured when I heard it, it was another barbeque rib. I saw you make it with the buttered rice, and the way your eyes rolled back in your head, I just had to try it. Oh My God!!! I remembered the taste when I was a little girl. I wish my father was alive so I could make it for him. Thank you so much. Now I'm on to the Fried Chicken with the hot sauce!! You know a black girl gotta try that!!Read more

    Flavorless

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
The meat was very tender but had no flavor other than cooked beef. This really needs something else to jazz it up. I froze... the majority of the dish because my husband disliked it and intend to turn it into a nice b-b-q for another meal. If you are looking for a good way to make short ribs tender this is a good way, just be sure you have you have a wand handy so you can turn it into something tasty.Read more

even an experienced cook can goof up

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
I am flabbergast...I threw out over half this recipe tonight. I read every review. I followed the recipe with the exception... of adding the carrots and wine. I baked the short ribs in a clay casserole, which is usually ideal for meat. I thought it was too salty, even though I didn't salt entirely. It was just hugely disappointing. Since I am in the minority, and everyone loved this recipe, I must have goofed somewhere along the way. I just wish I knew where.Read more
