Doesn't anyone taste before they serve? A little more of what you like, a little less of what you don't like works well. The basics are there and they are tasty.

I made this recipe because my dad LOVED Paula and this recipe didn't disappoint! WE both LOVED IT! I didn't have enough ingredients to make the recipe for House Seasoning so I just used salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste and it turned out AWESOME! Neither my dad nor I thought it was bland AT ALL! I guess if it's bland just add a little more salt, pepper, garlic powder. It's your recipe folks! Make it to YOUR taste! I think the most important thing about this dip is letting the flavors marry together for at least 4 hours. I can't imagine anyone making a blended dip and serving it immediately. Thanks for the wonderful recipe Paula! I've decided to make this dip again for my family reunion coming up in a few weeks! I KNOW it will be a huge hit!!!

We love Paula Deen, but we found thi recipe to be bland... it tasty just like whipped cream cheese. After, we added lemon juice, a touch of hot sauce and let it sit over night, it came out really yummy!!!

I have had Shrimp Butter and love it. Its mild and oh so yummy on crostini or crackers. However I didn't like this recipe at all!! We had to throw it out! I followed the recipe to the letter, but thought the Sherry was overwelming. The texture was odd too. I will keep searching for the perfect Shrimp Butter.

1 stick butter / 8 oz. cream cheese.
The recipe I have calls for onion juice. (Just mince some onion. I seem to remember Paula putting onion in hers ( on TV.
With the corrections we've added I'd give this 5 stars. I love shrimp butter.

I DVR'D THIS SHOW AFTER SOME OF THE COMMENTS AND I NOTICED THAT PAULA PUT 2 OF THE TUBS OF CREAM CHEESE IN. THOSE ARE 8 OZ. SHE EVEN SAID YOU COULD USE THE BLOCKS IF YOU WANTED. THAT MIGHT BE THE REASON IT WAS TOO BUTTERY. ALSO IF TOO BLAND ADD EXTRA CAYENE, AND GARLIC AND CUMIN. HOPE THIS HELP! MARIA

We used this Shrimp Butter for our Fat Tuesday Party - with a couple of changes. We took out one stick of butter and added one more 3oz. package of cream cheese. Also stepped up the Sherry - to taste - you'll know. Lots of requests for this recipe. Thanks so much.
