Very tasty!!! I could have added more hot sauce.. it wasnt spicy enough for us. However, easy to make and very delicious.

This recipe is a good starting point. But I added minced garlic, old bay seasoning and chicken broth (didn't have seafood stock and a bay leaf.
Also, I added a little bit of tomato paste for some body. If I had some wine in the house, I might have joined it.
Good recipe, but it needed some "help".

Very very very yummy!!! I used a 10 oz can of mild Rotel, a 15 oz can of tomato sauce, and added more hot sauce. I also cooked it on the stovetop at low heat for 1 1/2 hours. I made it for a dinner party and served it with brown rice. It was a HUGE hit. I will make it again & again.

Think it was great! I added some creole seasoning & more tomato sauce. I also just cooked it on a pot instead of the crockpot & it turnrd out fine. Delicious recipe.

This was so simple to make and it was delicious. Instead of just adding the shrimp at the end I coated the shrimp with some of Emeril's Essence and a little flower and lightly sauteed them in some olive oil which gave them a bit more flavor, then added them to the crock pot on warm. For the hot sauce I used Valentina (my fav. Then topped it with some slightly steam asparagus, it really worked. My wife was impressed and I didn't even make a huge mess in the kitchen like I usually do when I cook :-
The left overs were even better the next day for lunch. Will definitely make it again!

Great recipe with a 'kick" to it. I doubled the recipe for four and had a little left over so as most
people said, it was small for the servings shown. I made it the day before and it seemed to
mellow in the refrigerator and just get better tasting. Recipe is so easy and I will make this again.

Paula Deen is helping my marriage. This recipe is one of our favorites, but most importantly my husbands. It's hard for us to find dishes we both agree with but this is one of them. He asks for it on a regular bases and if you knew my husband....he is a picky eater. I follow the recipe exact for the most part, but I do add garlic and some creole seasoning and a bit more hot sauce. For the rice I cook it in chicken broth. Thanks again Paula!

This was an OK recipe--not as great as I thought it would be given the past comments. We're into savory food and this just didn't cut it considering how long the ingredients spent in the crockpot. Good, but not great!
