Served this tonight to hubby and sis. Sis had never had Cajun food before and she loved it! My hubby is a little bit of a wuss when it comes to spice, so I cut all the spices in half, and it still had plenty of kick for me, and I LIKE spicy foods! Also, cooked this in a giant skillet since I didn't have a saucepan large enough and it worked just fine. Great food, definitely a repeat!

Very tasty, if you like spicy. White pepper a tad overpowering, will decrease next time.

Last Friday night, my husband and I watched "Paula's Party" and were very excited about trying "Shrimp Etouffee". After going to the grocery store and to the fish market, we prepared the meal and it was great! We did cut back on the spices, but it still had a kick. The best part of the meal was the fact that our 2 1/2 year old ate it. Count the number of veggies he had Saturday night! A super yummy recipe that is quick and easy for even a mommy with a toddler underfoot!

I wasn't sure about the clam juice, so I put in chicken stock instead, was great. Better than restruant shrimp dishes. I'm sure it's just the same with the clam juice but..... I was afraid it would be too fishy.

As a midwesterner, I have not eaten alot of ettoufe, however, I've eaten it in a few restaraunts on vacations and i must say this recipe is the best!
It was quick and easy to make and absolutely delicous just the right amount of seasoning. I did add a little more clam juice since it was pretty thick, but great. Thanks Paula!
