USUALLY A POUND OF BEANS WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR THE TWO OF US, BUT WE ATE AND ATE AND ATE THESE. I ADDED 2 SMOKED PORK CHOPS TO THE HAM HOCKS. WE ADD A SPOONFUL OF DILL RELISH TO OUR BOWL OF BEANS, WITH CORNBREAD AND MILK WE ATE LIKE KINGS.

Maybe I should have waited until I had actually prepared this, however, just wanted to suggest to those who are particular about which meat they eat or use, to try smoked turkey. About anonymous, that was a disturbing, review, I'm talking mean-spirited, lack of good taste. Of course, just my opinion as that review was theirs.

Enjoyed the flavor of the dish. Instead of having just a bland tasting
dish the spices took it up a step.

I cooked this recipe in my slow cooker and after 6 1/2 hours they were still not cooked enough. I had to transfer to a pot and finish cooking on top of the stove. The next time I make these I'll cook on the stove.
