I made them today and my family loved 'em. I followed the directions to a "T" and they didn't fall apart. However, I can see putting them in the oven topped with cheese. I'm sure that would add to a alreday fantastic recipe!

We loved this recipe. I followed the directions exactly and had no problems whatsoever. No one knew we were eating leftover mashed potatoes!

The people that ended up baking them instead of frying... are 1 people that dont know how to fry.. (most of the north.. we take our frying serious in the south!! 2 or they ruin good food to be healthy!! And frying at the right temp and using peanut oil. Like Emerl says.. "fry right or dont fry at all..." Anyway a really good thing about this recipe is you can modify the meat.. to ham (cubed or your could use ground meat another 1/2 to full cup of cheese.. it would be great!! Love the Panko...

I wish I had read the reviews before I made these! The flavor was amazing, but the first batch that I fried fell apart. I added more panko and they turned out better, but next time I will just bake them.

I made these as small appetizers and they were excellent topped w/ a little sour cream! After reading all of the reviews, I tested a couple per this recipe (frying and they were a mess so I decided to bake them and they turned out perfect...crispy outer crust and soft, warm, and delicious on the inside. I baked them for approx. 30 minutes @425 (until breading is golden brown.
