The chicken is unbelievable! I tried this biscuit recipe and they came out horribly. The second time I made the biscuits, I sued my own recipe.
There is not a lot of gravy but still very flavorful; goes great with mashed potatoes. If you like original recipe KFC chicken, tastes similar to that!

I made this recipe according to the instructions and I thought it was way to greasy. On the show they said the chicken made it's own gravy, that was not the case. It even looks oily on the picture but I thought I'd try it. I am very experienced cook and I think this recipe would have been better if the chicken was removed to make real gravy (with flour, water, etc out of the oil that was left in the pan.
I didn't even try the bicuits because of the other readers reviews, but I did make my own out of another recipe. They didn't make the chicken taste better. Although I did like the use of the celery with the other ingredients. This is not something I would make again.

The chicken was so delicious, full of flavor and juicy. My family of four really loved it. They are very picky. I only used thighs and legs, perfect cooking time as the directions stated. I did add some carrots to the sauted veggies. but, I shyed away from trying the biscuits. maybe next time.

I tried the chicken for myself first. It was so good, I made it for my mom and dad the next day. I made the biscuits that day not thinking about the use of salt and self-rising flour. First batch, tasted like a salt rock! So I made another batch with only a 1/2 tbsp of salt and 2 tbsp of sugar...this batch was better but still a little too salty. I suggest using no salt at all. I'm gonna try it again...maybe tonight...I'll let you know how that turns out.

Just watched the show too. There is no salt or sugar mentioned for the biscuits and she also said to roll into 1/2 inch thickness, not one inch. I also think food network needs to do better with editing the online recipes. I'm surprised there isn't a better system for this. Couldn't they get the recipes from the chef's somehow? I plan on making this soon :

I haven't even tried it yet and I can see it's way too much salt. Hey, guys use 1 tsp. It's a misprint.

I only tried the chicken. My husband loved it. He wants me to cook it more often. It was quick, simple and very moist. However, I didn't get the gravy like on the show or the pic that's posted. I don't know maybe when I try it again, I can add some more flour to the water as it simmers. Thanks, Mama Rock and love you Paula.

I made this recipe tonight minus the biscuits and it was wonderful. I did add extra house seasoning to the flour and also seasoned the chicken with house seasoning before dredging it in the flour. The chicken came out very moist and full of flavor. Will definately be making this chicken again and will next time try the biscuits too!!

I fixed this last night only using thighs and legs to save money. I can't tell you enough how good this was.I forgot to dredge with flour and it browned up great so would work well for low carb dieters. I did dredge later and the sauce did thicken. It was very flavorful. I can't wait to fix it again. I browned it up before leaving for work and had the celery and onions choped so it was fast to prepare when I got home. Gave me time to watch the news and have a cocktail.

i believe there is wayy too much salt in this recipe....it should probably be 1 teaspoon of salt. however, when the show aired..it called only for milk, shortening and flour..
