IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR HALLOWEEN, BUT I NEVER GOT TO IT IN TIME. EVEN MY DAUGHTER WHO ISN'T PARTICULARLY FOND OF ANY MEAT HAD A SECOND PIECE.

I made this recipe and followed all of the instructions ending in disaster! The ham produced liquid as it was cooking and made the entire bottom soggy! I made this on my way to a cubscout function -- embarressed to admit I brought it. The kids didn't care though! It firmed up a little after it cooled. I wouldn't recommend the ham!

I jumped all over this recipe when planning a last minute Halloween luncheon at our office. I've not seen the episode of Paula doing this, so I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to fold the dough as many times as the recipe says and how it was going to turn out looking like the picture. I was going into this a bit blind. I first knew I had a problem when I had 30 ounces of deli meat spread out on the dough; there was no way this thing was going to fold. It was a disaster. The dough started tearing everywhere and making a mess. I'll try it again, but use 1/2 the meat or double the dough. As for the taste, it really didn't appeal to our tastebuds. I'll tweak the ingredients next time. We don't care for bologna. We also prefer a stronger flavor cheese. (Plus my husband strongly dislikes mustard. Someone wrote an idea of using pasta sauce and doing like a stromboli or calzone. I love that idea.

I used Grey Poupon mustard and it came out pretty good. I would use more than one can of cresent rolls and cut up the meat so it's easier to shape the snake. Worth the effort, wasn't too hard, and was a great hit. One can was only enough to feed three people if it's your main course.

Made this to feed my three sons for Halloween dinner. It was a hit! I would need to make several to really feed our family, but this was a fun snack before going out trick or treating! Thanks Paula, you're the BEST!

I made this just as directed. My grandchildren loved it as did the parents. We are making it again for Halloween supper before going out. Will save this recipe for a long time. Thanks Paula keep up the good work. I am going to do this at Christmas only make it into a wreath. Colored green.

I agree with most of the others, it's not as easy as Paula makes it look. But it is very good. The crescent rolls give it a great taste. But if you want to make it a little easier on yourself and have some more dough to work with, try the refrigerated pizza dough instead of the
    crescent rolls.
