I used to make my version growing up in Washington State. However, in the Philippines there is a dessert similar to this, we... call it Halo Halo (Mix Mix.) Take shaved ice, evaporated milk, sugar, and whatever fruits (bottled or fresh,) red sweet beans (I think most people know it as chinese red beans, I know it as mungo.) It's not really an ice cream, but more of a drink.Read more

Hey Ya'll, I've been eating "snow cream" as my mom callsit, all of my life. But this year is the first time I've used this... recipe. I have to say it is the easiest and best tasting that I've ever had. No extra stirring to make sure all the sugar has dissolved, it was great. Thanks Paula, for all your wonderful recipes.Read more
