I'll have to say it take a true southerner to get it right. Love ya Paula thanks for all the recipes you have. Snow cream is the best. I was raised on it and now my children and I'm going to now make some for my grands. A family tradition.

miss paula i think the recipe is wonderful. and to those who say such negotive things about it like oh no snow is dirty or southerners r not smart, IF YOU KNEW HOW TO READ YOU WOULD SEE THAT THE RECIPE CLEARLY STATES 8 CUPS SNOW OR SHAVED ICE SO OBVIOUSLY SHAVED ICE IS WHAT YOU USE INSTED IF SNOW IS NOT GOOD WHERE YOU LIVE agin great recipe.

To the person that said we southerners don't know anything....do you eat vegetables
and all the things that you think are organic well it grows because it rains and where does rain come from? It comes from the same place that the snow came from and you are eating the same pollution you think you are not eating! Paula you are the best!

I have had this since I was a kid. Try making a custard using up to 6 eggs, 1 quart of half and half, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and a little vanilla. I never measure any of this. Once everything but the eggs are heated, temper the eggs so they don't cook quickly, then add to the mixture and cook a few minutes. Once it cools, add enough snow so it has the consistency you want. This has been a favorite everytime we get a big snow.

With all of the blizzards we have been getting in the Mid-Atlantic, this one has come in handy. Add some mashed ripe strawberries and you will get the best strawberry "snow" cream ever! Thanks Paula!
